Outpost Pro 2009 New Year edition released
 We are pleased to announce the new Outpost 2009 versions, which add further security improvements and useful components so you will find it even easier to configure the products to work in accordance with your requirements.
What’s new in the latest versions?
Faster performance and smarter scanning with new SmartScan 3
The SmartScan engine has been optimized to deliver the ultimate in anti-malware scan performance. This latest version improves on the speed by skipping safe system files that contain the digital signatures of trusted vendors.
Actionable alerts
When an unknown application triggers a firewall alert, you can act directly upon it. In addition to creating a custom rule, you can add target domains to a blocked addresses list or instantly terminate the requesting application.
Intelligent and more rigorous analysis of auto-started objects
Outpost’s heuristic analyzer, part of the antimalware module, screens Windows start-up entries and analyzes contents, such as registry startups, services and drivers, for suspicious activity or components.
Security module selection
Advanced users can now configure the list of modules to be installed components during the set-up process. The wizard greets you with a request to either stick with the “by default” configuration or select your preferred modules.

Here’s a reminder of the major improvements:
